After yoyo dieting at University, I restored equilibrium by assuming an active lifestyle: running, cycling, swimming, walking and tennis; enjoying moving with my husband and two children.  I thrived on physical challenges such as marathons and triathlons.

However my body felt extremely tight and creaky, despite regular yoga classes.  I wasn't functionally fit.

The missing component was efficient alignment, balanced body and bio-mechanics. Training and teaching Pilates has helped me feel flexible and strong and this is available to everyone.

Travel has made me question why other humans don't suffer western ailments.  This led me to analyze the lifestyle factors which affect physical health the remainder of the time (96%!) when we are not in class.  Repetitive movements, screens, constant sitting and sedentary lifestyles take their toll.  I have worked extensively with Katy Bowman - a leader in bio-mechanics, to understand a series of restorative exercises, leveraging results in non exercise time to include body friendly habits such as resting squats, carrying, more walking, floor sitting and healthy footwear.

I love sharing these skills and tips into physical longevity and believe they will help shield us from weakness and frailty in old age. 

On a personal level I want to continue to challenge myself and completed a long distance triathlon this year. I am also a qualified Triathlon coach and love to encourage people to get active including classes 1-1s, and schools.

When I discovered Pilates in my mid-30s - my body, and my attitude to what it can achieve, were transformed. My posture, strength and flexibility all improved and I found myself setting and achieving goals I'd always assumed were out of my reach.

When I discovered weight training a few years ago my body was further transformed and my new strength allowed me to set more extreme goals - endurance cycling and swimming challenges, and ultra-marathon and my ultimate “I could never do that” an Ironman distance triathlon! I qualified as a Personal Trainer in 2019.

I am a fully qualified Pilates instructor (Polestar Pilates Miami) in mat, reformer and full studio pilates. I have a fully equipped pilates studio including two reformers enabling me to specialise in 2-to-1 pilates sessions.

I have also studied The Melt Method in USA and am excited to offer classes and workshops in London - using soft rollers to gently release niggles and joint stiffness and aid recovery. I have also studied with Jill Miller using her Tune Up balls for myofascial release. And I am a qualified TRX instructor.

With all the methodologies I have in my toolbox, I feel I can truly help you to transform your body and achieve goals you thought were impossible.
